A healthy diet involves consuming appropriate number all of the food groups, including an adequate amount of water. Nutrients can be contained from other different foods, so there are a large variety of healthy diets.<span id="more-53"></span><br />
The World Health Organisation (WHO) describe the following 5 recommendations with respect to both populations and individuals:<br />
1. Achieve an energy balance and a healthy weight<br />
2. Limit energy intake from total fats and shift fat consumption away from saturated fats to unsaturated     fats and towards the elimination of trans-fatty acids<br />
3. Add consumption of fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains and nuts<br />
4. Limit the intake of simple or no sugars<br />
5. reduce and limit  salt / sodium consumption from all sources and ensure that salt is iodized</p>
